East Ridge-Harmony United Methodist Church is located in rural Southwest Clearfield County in the Harmony School District, located on Ridge Road. No matter the season, you can not help but notice God at work in creation as you traverse to church to worship, including wildlife!
Originally a Brethern congregation, East Ridge-Harmony became United Methodist during the 1968 merger. Our church is part of the Johnstown District of the Western Pennsylvania Conference (WPAUMC).
Our multi-generational congregation presents three-yearly themed Cantata's: Easter, Celebrate Freedom, and Christmas, with participants from four area congregations led by Bill Clouser. Our Seniors and Our Women's Missionary Group are currently our most active ministries, providing many exciting opportunities to serve others. Our Monday Bible Study has been active for twenty years and is a time when we get deeper into the study of the Word of God and how it is applied to our daily life. Many folks also look forward to our Tureen (covered dish) dinner, when we sup after service exchanging homemade creations!
Pastor John, pictured with his lovely wife, Pastor Kendra, is part of a clergy couple. John & Kendra reside in Salem at The Luthersburg Charge UMC Parsonage. It is not unusual to see Pastor Kendra at a special service, or even conducting a service or a visit while Pastor John is at Seminary and he visiting her members in the Pittsburgh area!
Pastor John is a second-year Master of Divinity student at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, on track to complete his classroom studies n December 2021 and graduate in May 2022, 60 years after his father, John!
John and Kendra have a blended family of three boys and two girls, ages 19 to 39, and two grand-teens. John and Kendra enjoy their date nights, the outdoors, travel, music, family, and visiting their children and grand-teens!
